At Dreams Academy, we believe every young king deserves a foundation built on purpose, pride, and possibility. In this short video, founder Brandon R. Scarborough shares the heart behind the mission — where it started, why it matters, and how we’re shaping a future where our boys rise with confidence. This is more than education — it’s transformation.

Meet Our Founder
Brandon R. Scarborough, M.Ed, is a dedicated educator and mentor with a passion for uplifting the African American community.
Brandon R. Scarborough has been a tireless advocate for minority youth since 2006, equipping them with the tools, mentorship, and mindset needed for successful living. In 2016, he founded Dreams Academy in Akron, Ohio — a bold initiative and now a fully established school designed as an excellence incubator for Black boys. Originally serving ages 10 to 15 through mentorship programs, Dreams Academy has since evolved into a school rooted in purpose, vision, and culturally relevant education for boys in grades K–3.
A lifelong resident of Akron, Brandon saw firsthand the challenges facing young Black males and chose to act early — creating a safe, empowering space to nurture their dreams from the ground up. His dedication has earned him numerous awards and honors, but his greatest legacy is the young kings he helps raise every day through the work of Dreams Academy.
